John...who would you think credible CURRENTLY?

Good question. Definitely not Rush. I used to listen to him because of my work commute. I had a three hour commute out on Monday and a three hour commute back on late Thursday. So Monday's commute, if Rush were on, I listened. He kept me awake when the coffee lagged.

But the problem with Rush is that he only spins (I have a less kind word but will not use it) so one can only growl at him while driving.

Incidentally, for folk of my political persuasion, he's a great adrenaline surge for sleepy drivers.

If the Bush folk were seriously interested in a bipartisan policy on Iraq, they would pull some foreign policy experts among opposition heavies into serious briefings at some point. Tek would have a list; I don't. Should be in the near term. Give those opposition leaders a no holds, no secrets (perhaps a few things) briefing.

They could include some dem senators on the list but motives get all mixed with judgment there. If they are considering presidential candidacies, whatever they say gets read through those lenses. My current favorite is John Kerrey but he would definitely have that problem. Lieberman has already made up his mind. God knows what subtleties Daschle thinks he's playing. And John Edwards is still a bit of a lightweight on foreign policy stuff.

So I think it needs to be, to have reasonably widespread credibility, some folk besides the obvious political types. Tek's people.

That would do the trick for me.
