When you want to make a point, you will quote from web logs, but the only source you will consider as accurate on a news story, if I post it, is the "New York Times."

Nope. I try to annotate all my posts as to source, whatever. Where I think we all know the source, I skip that part. When I'm more than a little uncertain about the material, as in the Howler post, I say so. I encourage folk to check it out but I'm not prepared to argue for the contents of the post. In the Howler post, I simply noted that the contents were, basically, what I already assumed happened. Just some more details.

If you can find a weblog I quoted from, without offering reasonably serious annotation, please let me know. It was a mistake on my part. Incidentally, Karen caught me doing something like that with William Saletan of Slate. She was absolutely right.
