Enterprise software which inlcudes psft, orcl, beas, sebl etc is stronger than the software group as a whole. I believe that short of some really boutique areas (wifi chips etc) that enterprise software is the best performing tech area. Beas was up today for a while, for example.

I believe oracle will make their numbers, perhaps exceed a little, even on the revs side. Therefore I really can't short and feel good about it. Otoh its hard to make money as a long when dinosaurs like HPQ bring you down day after day.

I remember when Oracle was in the 7s though, prior to the July massacre so he has gained ground fairly consistently.

actually, I was referring to something a little more short term. You have to go back about 50 days before ORCL starts to really outperform its competitors and indexes.
The last 40 or fewer days it's mildly ahead, if at all.

Sentiment is really more a short term phenomenon, though it does have some long term ramifications.
