Bible scholars would argue that his specific death was foretold and he had to die as a criminal to assume our sin. This is the pertinent verse, written over a thousand years before crucifixion was invented.

Deuteronomy 21:23

His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

Correcting my error you replied to and properly stated, the proper terminology for Christ is "Redeemer" and not "Redemptrix" which is what Catholics consider Mary as Mother of God. The words are gender specific the same as executor and executrix.
