if you insist in using MSIE instead of Opera, then you'll have to go to your Documents and Settings/User/Cookies folder and delete everything with 'ads', 'ad', 'track', 'tracker', 'x10', 'hitbox', 'trail', 'advertising', 'doubleclick', 'adserver', or similar in its name, and do it periodically.
some day advertisers will realize that pop-ups are extreme negative publicity.

Go to here and install the free program "POW!":

pcworld.com

Once you delete a pop-up, it will remember all future windows with that name and remove them automatically.
