Manipulators like Karl Rove have learned how to push his hot buttons, about his mental limitations and his relationship with his father in particular, to keep him on the course they chart for him. One part of that is to keep him insecure, hint at his stupidity and the disapproval of his father. A large part of that is to keep him pumped up about running, remaining firm, and Jesus so that he will conclude that whatever they tell him early will become a law of nature to him, that he cannot reconsider or change. It is as if Junior had a wind up key on his back and Rove just has to wind him up and point him in Rove's preferred direction. TP
