"most jobs are obtained after behind the closed door interviews for salaries that must not be disclosed to anyone else"

So what? I think it is a good idea to get some training in how to interview and how to present yourself to succeed in getting one of these types of jobs if that is what you wish for. People get these types of jobs because the strive for them and educate themselves to be able to attain them. Management type jobs are not as lucrative and desireable as you might think. A good friend of mine just went (about 1 1/2 years ago) from union supervisor to middle management. A good reality check for him in that now he knows these people work hard too. He now puts in more hours, gets paid about the same, but has more upside potential (if measured in salary). He got the job btw because he was the most qualified. Strange but true.
