All those analysts are idiots for this. AMAT said in their earnings CC in February 2002, that they expected the equipment market to shrink by 25% this year. And NOW the analysts are putting out research expressing surprise that this is turning out to be the case, while pumping these issues during the 1st quarter of this year. Seriously, Mikey Mouse would be a better analyst! Amazing that no one listened to AMAT's management on this, who else would you listen to for a good overview/forecast on the industry than industry leader AMAT? Yeeesh! A-M-S PS: I haven't owned any equipment stocks this year.
