Dale, Don't assume. <

The ONLY assumption I made was about your religion.......so far, you haven't proven me incorrect.

>If you want to state your opinion on religious matters, you can do that, but I'm not interested in that debate. There are many other boards where people
can express their hatred for each other, and justify it on the basis of religion.<

Nowhere in my statement did I proclaim "hatred" for any religion, or any particular group of people. However, one can hardly debate the Middle East situation WITHOUT discussing religion, since it is the primary catalyst for what is going on over there. To deny that is to live with your head stuck in the sand. (No pun intended!)

I myself am an agnostic, and tend to look at all fanatics, whether political, religious, or cultural as some of the most dangerous groups of people in society. But they've been with us forever, and we have to deal with them by teaching that there are other reasonable and allowable ideologies besides their own .

>Your original question was did I have a source to back up the statement that thousands of Afghan civilians died from US bombs. I provided the source. If
you want to challenge its veracity, please do.<

When I get some time, I'll look into your "sources". I have learned to believe little of what comes out of the Middle East. I'm not sure that the concepts of "truth and "accuracy" have a counterpart in the Arab lexicon. Nor am I sure that if there IS such a counterpart, that they are of any importance to Arabs, whatsoever.

That is not intended as a slur, but merely an observation, based upon the constant pleas of innocence, ignorance of material facts, and denial, that I see coming from the Arab world in regard to culpability for what happened on 9/11 and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Of course I could be wrong.
