i believe in those words of course "your country" means your fellow citizens, country without people, doesn't mean much (imo) your fellow citizens in need are the poor, and the ignorant, the desperate, and frequently, the not so very likable It is easy to help cute little pandas, for example (although some people aren't even interested in them)- it takes a real liberal to want to embrace and aide a banana slug <gggg>- and of course it takes a real liberal to use the court system to force a Republican landowner to put aside some habitat so said banana slug doesn't die out- because the Republican will tell you that you don't need banana slugs (of course there might be SOME Republican somewhere who likes the banana slug. I'm not falling into THAT trap. But he or she doesn't happen to figure in this hypothetical.)
