SUV's....

My wife's current pet peeve and driving fear is being parked next to or between two SUV's or vans which block one's view when backing out of a parking space.....ditto when one pulls up next to you at an intersection...

<<American Tragedy: More tots being run over, killed
Most such deaths involve big vehicles >>

That's because there are more big vehicles on the road. A local case just had a young woman back out of her drive into the neighbor's drive and kill a 3 year old. She was 20 and panicked, also driving a small car.

I got the horn today for making a quick stop. I see a small child running toward the street I stop when I can't see the child. Today the kid turned and ran up the side walk. Doesn't always happen that way. I got the horn, big deal.

I do live in deer crossing land so I'm always looking to the sides of the road. Once I stopped and my passenger looked at me oddly until a kid ran out between the parked cars. Bouncing ball, hit the brakes.
