Everyone should be made to stand by what they have done in their life, good and bad.

I don't think this is so simple. There are privacy issues here. And relevance issue. We shouldn't have to tell everyone everything about ourselves. I stole some bread from a bakery in Acapulco in 1963. Should I have to tell everyone I meet? Shouldn't the super rich or a famous hero be able to go incognito? Are we saying SI aliases shouldn't be allowed? Sure, there is a moral obligation to tell certain things to someone you plan to marry or form a business partnership with, for example, but your neighbor doesn't need to know all about it.
