Got, I saw that on Briefing earlier and wondered the same thing. I assumed that they meant that corporate spending on IT equipment was up slightly but that was more than offset by the decline in consumer electronics?

Gottfried, You don't have a little laboratory stashed away in your house somewhere stocked with NVLS equipment that needs to be upgraded? I thought everybody had that!

I know I do and I have been waiting for the right time to "invest" in an upgrade. The NVLS marketing department has been "romancing" me, but I'm hanging tough. A little too early to invest in an upgrade I tell them - they will just have to wait a month or two.

You should have seen the look in their eyes when I told them they would have to wait. I saw the hint of a tear in one of their eyes, but I said "not to worry", as a consumer I would come through a little later and buy the upgrade, but right now I had to watch my spending.

I said, based on the latest consumer confidence report that came out today, which I assumed they had read, that I was a little more cautious now than I was last month. Maybe by next month, however, I would feel a little more confident and then I would place my order for their latest 300mm tools for my laboratory. After all, what consumer would want to be caught dead with the old 200mm tools? It wouldn't look good to the neighbors - what would they say? - that Don is losing his grip? I can't afford for that to happen!!!:)
