i believe we have far more than enough on the long haul side but far less than adequate on the short haul side, especially the metro. i cannot believe the neighborhood my brother lives (edge of mountain view and sunnyvale) does not have cable modem connection eventhough he has cable tv. he ended up with dsl. a friend of his lives not too far away and he has neither available and he ended up with wireless connection. i read about 2/3 of the town of Redmond has no high speed connection. i am sure the evil empire has its own hs connection. ;-)
