Sam,

Knowledge about OFDM is not a prerequisite to making comments about its greatness.

All I can say for a certainty is that it has some promise. From a standards, standpoint, however, it is going to be a long time before it is ready for prime time.

Thanks for the reply Sam, And I can't argue with anything you say. As for your closing comment about past financials, profitability has certainly not been driven by technology choice. The advantage CDMA affords relative to GSM is indiscernable to the consumer in the commoditzed 2g world of voice. I mean, voice is voice. The bet we are making is that the higher data throughput speeds of CDMA and the more seamless migration path of the variant favored by QCOM will permit CDMA to enjoy first to market advantages in 3g, and also offer a wider array of applications at higher rates of speed. Thus it will have the opportunity to differentiate itself from GSM in the mind of the consumer according to the criteria you expressed in your post.

Plenty of risks to be sure.

Enjoy the holiday weekend. Best regards.
