Do you think that if Christian fundamentists were in charge of our government they would not have their policies driven by the bible

tell me your definition of a "Christian fundamentist(sic)" .

Whether you like it or not, we ARE a nation under God. We are an earth under God. And whether you like it or not, the pledge will remain as it is, so no 'One nation under chaos" as you would like to see..

"Do you think that if Christian fundamentists were in charge of our government they would not have their policies driven by the bible as the Islamics do with the Koran?"

Maybe. But that is not the case. Our forefathers set up a system that did not allow this.

"Bible justice can be pretty severe and it can also be oppressive...."

So what. Don't follow it then. It's a free country. And God Bless America for that. Whichever God you choose btw.

"I am a secular person"

Good for you. Again, its a free country. It wouldn't matter to me whether you are Muslim, Bhudist, Atheist, pagan, whatever. Doesn't matter.

"in favor of a secular government as the founding fathers intended"

I'm not sure they said this. Can you point out where this beleif of yours is written? My belief is that they felt that there should be freedom of religion, and that the state (gov't) should not impose a particular one on someone, which we do not.

"Furthermore your last paragraph displays the type of attitude that I fear would be commonplace if this country were run by Christian fundamentalists...."

It's not run by Christian fundementalists. Why is this so hard for you to understand? Why do you keep posing this ridiculous assumption?
