Ted, Re: <just bought some.....buying some of that too>
You are some kind of tradin' individual!

I always buy before weekends especially long ones......usually the ones I want are on sale because no one wants to hold over the weekend. However, this weekend only CVU and WDC went on sale..........apparently, people decided to be rude and keep me from getting what I wanted. <g>

So, I didn't get any ITRI or TENT. Probably its best to hold only oil and defense over this particular weekend......you never know when Bush will get an itch and jump into an F-16 and take out Sodom. BTW forgot to tell you about MSN.......I'm getting some of that on Tues.

On the subject of WDC, did you read this week's

pbs.org

I think he has the point right, but the motives of IBM wrong.

With WDC, its one of those rare times that I'm buying the mgmnt and not just the company. Massengill, the CEO, has been a wunderkind in his efforts to turn around WDC. I think this is the first fiscal year in 5 or 6 that WDC has made money and its revenues are actually starting to grow. Having said that, the guy's points are well taken.......WDC was particularly dependent on IBM, and acquisitions will not be easy with a stock price of $4 and without tons of cash. However, I have faith in Massengill.

Having said all that, I don't like the way the stock is acting..........the last two days, it rallied and then fell back to below its opening price. That indicates to me the stock has more downside and I have just put in very tight stops.

I liken IBM getting out of the disk drive business to their getting out of the typewriter business 20 some years ago.

Not to sound too stupid, but why is this analogous? I mean, I didn't even know that IBM had made typewriters. Were they into refrigerators as well? <g>
