I suspect you are correct.

The abstract I furnished came from a draft report of the 3GPP/3GPP2 harmonization meeting on radio access issues that took place in Korpilampi, Finland, on June 25th 2002. Ed Tiedemann of Qualcomm and Francois Courau of Alcatel co-chaired the meeting. Lucent and Nokia as well as Alcatel and Qualcomm were very active in the meeting.

The first several pages of the report deal with inputs from the Joint 3GPP 3GPP2 Spatial Channel Modeling Ad Hoc Group, and in discussion Ed Tiedemann questioned if the quasi-static modelling used currently and in the past is still valid for multiple antennas and he also raised the issue of interference from neighboring cells such as including traffic models on the neighboring cells, and how would they impact the channel model used.
