OTOH, many things about Foster's death appeared highly suspicious. What happened? Who knows? It's like the Kennedy assasination: high profile and powerful people may have compelling reasons to want the truth buried with him. Maybe he was a compulsive gambler and wouldn't pay his loan shark and that was what motivated murder and what was to be hidden.

What is wrong with that piece? US gov't agencies have and do engage in pretty horrendous activities, including activities on US soil that are illegal. Do you really believe that the gov't would not or cannot very easily monitor your phone conversations with your knowledge or a warrant? What do you think all those US gov't communications satellites are doing? They've announced that they have the right to and will monitor the internet. It travels in the same EM radiation as phone calls. Do you doubt that Operation Phoenix took place? Was My Lai one lone lieutenant acting on hi own? There are dozens of examples that could be cited.
