France is a next to useless ally and best ignored. They like to beat their chests when things are quiet - but when thinks heat up - their knees tremble and they shake like leaves in the wind. I was living in England in 1986 when Reagan sent the F-111's to make a social call to Gaddafi. France denied overfly rights because they were afraid of what Gaddafi would do later on.

China - what can I say - am I the only one who is sick and tired of going to the store to find way too many things with a "Made in China" stamp. China is still largely a peasant society and is not home to hordes of people smarter than us as they would have everyone believe. Many of their scientists who work in the West plagiarize the dickens out of already published work. I caught one of them doing that myself. Do a key word search using "Chinese scientist plagiarism" for an interesting read. People in the west think the Chinese are smart - they aren't - they just steal other peoples ideas and claim them as their own. China always opposes anything the West does - so I would also ignore them. If they are so smart - then just look at the way they drive on the road - they're a nightmare.

What's happening down at UNC? Why is the president requiring that freshman read passages from the Koran and then write a paper? I would tell the president that he can shove his Koran - and the hate toward the "infidels" that it preaches - where the sun doesn't shine and find another school.
