You can assist me further by answering this post of mine responsively: Nope, all N asked for was for CH to retract an accusation (not a joke; only later did he term it that, at N's suggestion) that you and CH both know to be sordid and untrue. All he had to do is say what he seems to have just done: "It was a play on words; bad joke!"
