Of course, since the 1st World War, governments have shown that they do not need God as an excuse for killing millions of people.

If the slaughter of the Civil War did not change the God and etc. why would WWI?... or are you saying it (WWI) was more the straw that broke the camel's back than Civil War.

Nevertheless things have not changed for fundamentalists and they are the thorn in the side of what is loosely referred to as civilization.
