Actually, I have no assurance that anyone here is who they claim to be. Lazarus Long, J.C. Dithers and Christopher Hodgkin could be as false as "cosmicforce". The choice of names is irrelevant to me because this place is necessarily an abstraction. It is like a gaming identity.

This is Internet old school. You don't assume the person is whom they claim to be until you verify it through a 3D meeting. If one or both people eschew such a confirmation, then, unless there is proof that some law was broken, then your presumption of anonymity should be protected. Not one bit of this surprises me though, with 49% of the American people thinking that the 1st Ammendment provides too much protection. People are so quick to give away what can't be taken back except by force. Incredible.
