arrogant assertion that Bennett and Cheney have a patent on patriotism. I assume you are posting from New England. How is the trip? Bennett and Cheney have made no claim, that I have seen, saying that they have a patent on patriotism. (Hmm. I wonder if you can get one? My son-in-law will be a patent attorney next year.) But a lot of the time when someone on the right goes after the kind of thing we have seen from the NEA, the answer from the left becomes a personal one, with charges of "McCarthyism," or or a sneer at "Patriotism."
