She didn't unban me because we were friends -- we weren't then.

She unbanned me because I persuaded her that it was a violation of liberal principles to ban somebody until they had said something on the thread that deserved banning -- otherwise it was prepublication censorship, which she should be against. Since I was right, my argument prevailed, as it did later with SI when I was also right.
