Take a look at the Borrowing chart about 2/3 down (many thanks to Lee from SAII and Marketswing). What could possibly have caused a spike in bank borrowing that rivaled 9/11/01? There certainly wasn't anything even hinted at in the news. Would love to hear anyone's opinion.

FWIW, if anyone likes following Fed stuff, Lee's charts are updated weekly...he gets the weekly e-mail updates from them.
