Poet and her husband went to a lawyer. They got as far as getting the correct papers to file. A decision was made for health reasons not to pursue the matter.

My husband spoke to the WBA and PM'd to CH a link to the relevant material from the WBA's ethics committee. CH threatened to sue. We couldn't engage an attorney to fight an attorney, particularly because my husband's work circumstances were pressing. CH settled for that twisted "apology," accepting my husband's suggestion that he claim it was a joke.

why didn't Poet (or her supporters) threaten
legal action?

They did.

I wish they had. They would have lost, and it would have cleared the air.

I wish she had. I think she did consult a lawyer... Personally, I told her I didn't think the scumwad was worth the expense....
