But least the NYT reported it. I cannot find the story either at the BBC or Ananova. Incredible.

Incredible? Try par for the course. The BBC has internalized the Palestinian narrative pretty thoroughly -- evil colonialists, dark-skinned hapless 3rd world victims -- this is the narrative for Western ears, not the Arabic narrative, you understand. In this narrative, the wogs are not held to the same standards as the colonialists. As victims of colonialism, it wouldn't be right.

The killing of collaborators not really a new story, the only novelty is the age and sex of the victim. It has been a staple of Palestinian politics forever, since the 20's, in fact. I've almost never seen the BBC report on any of the previous stories, either. I say "almost" because I'm not positive it's "never", but I can't remember an example.

Thanks for your reaction, btw.

Edit: I did a search on BBC News and I have to take that last remark back. They have run some stories, just not all that often. The search turned up three stories from 2002 that headlined collaborator killings (many fewer than run in the Israeli press, certainly). They ran a story on the killing of the dead girl's aunt last week news.bbc.co.uk
