The key, of course, is that after several generations, the celebrations become less meaningful. America is a huge success not because of multi-culturalism, but because the abandoned cultures of the immigrants (and indeed, they were ALL refugees for good reason) become nothing but nostalgic food festivals by the 3rd or 4th generation...
