Well said, MM. You covered in a few sentences a great range of issues, so, inevitably, there is room for a small misunderstanding here and there, but on balance I think that you got the big picture very well. Many people think that since we are nearly alone, we must be wrong. Well, since when did we here come to believe that consensus is necessarily right? To paraphrase Socrates (from memory), “If you want to find out something, are you going to ask a hundred men who don’t know, or the one man who does?” And as for Augie… his second remark makes me believe that the first one was meant as a joke. Well… it didn’t fly. You got to come back, man, do the right thing – and try to close the issue.
