Of course other wireless providers are going to have a fit over Intel integrating wireless technology on their mobile products, but from a consumer point of view, I think it's a good thing if laptops come configured with wireless support from the time you buy them. It encourages more locations to have wireless hubs built in for users. Imagine going to work, or a cafe, or the doctor's office, or a book store, and still have a wireless connection for your laptop or PDA. I think that's the future, but the first step will be having wireless capability standard in all mobile products.
