Sorry, Tim, but there are people who don't give a sht, and don't care if the air is so dirty you can cut it with a knife.* Thats probably true but not really important as such people are very few and very far between and because the air isn't that bad, and in fact by most measures (with the obvious exception of ozone) is getting better. However there are a lot of people who want to deal with the issue rationally and balancing economic costs, costs to our freedom and environmental benefit rather then run around like Chicken Little saying the sky is falling and that any measure that might reduce pollution or CO2 emissions, now matter how expensive or restrictive is a good idea.
