We expect July’s normalized net adds of 122k to fall off slightly given seasonal weakness and disputes over subsidization. In July, SK Telecom reported 153K net adds while KT Freetel reported a 19k loss of subs. * Japan’s KDDI (9433, HOLD, ¥339K, TP ¥350K) Expected to Show Solid Net Adds for August: Later this week, we expect KDDI to report solid CDMA 1x gross adds yet anticipate that churn rate will drag on the net add number for the company overall. A healthy ramp in CDMA 1x continued in July with 490k net adds, bringing the total 1x base to 1.6M with mgmt comfortable with estimates of 7m subs on its 1x network by March ‘03.
