Could the weakness in numbers we are seeing especially todays manufacturing numbers be a reflection of the panic in the markets in July. I would maintain Julys chilling effect on the economy was much like 9/11. Companies are being as as conservative(small c) as they possibly can, perhaps to a fault. This should be the last squeeze. To paraphrase Morgan, "everyone will place their orders at the same time." Wont it be cool at some time in the future to start hearing of shortages? mike
