Intel Selects Wind River Tech For IP-Based Storage Networking Thursday August 29, 2:32 pm ET ALAMEDA, Calif. -(Dow Jones)- Intel Corp. (NasdaqNM:INTC - News) will use Wind River Systems Inc.'s Tornado for Intelligent Network Acceleration software. In a press release Thursday, Wind River said the software will be used on Intel's PRO/1000 T IP Storage Adapter. The Intel PRO/1000 T IP Storage Adapter is part of the iSCSI host bus adapter market segment. Wind River said the flexibility of the Intel PRO/1000 T IP Storage Adapter allows companies to build cost-effective iSCSI storage-area networks over existing Ethernet infrastructure. Shares of Wind River traded recently at $5.40, up 80 cents, or 17.4%, on Nasdaq volume of 734,700 shares. Average daily volume is 710,169 shares.
