A "liturgical" Protestant can fulfill the sermonizing and counseling needs of a "non- liturgical" Protestant, but the reverse is not true. The argument being made by the non-liturgicals was just the opposite, that the liturgical chaplains couldn't meet the needs of the non-liturgical flock. Of course, the whole thing baffled me. And now, with your response, I'm even more baffled. It will be interesting to see how it turns out. Hope I don't miss it when it happens. I'm going to set up a search of Yahoo news for "non-liturgical." Can't imagine that word would be used very often in the news.
