"it just amazes me that you all can continue to carry on this petty AMD versus Intel jihad while both stocks tank."

??? What does amaze you so much? Last time I checked,
AMD is still in make-it-or-break-it attempt to compete
with Intel. How the heck this is related to "both stock
tank" situation? Who cares that stock tanks in short term?

Oh, wait! I forgot that Intel's compensation of engineers
depends on stock options much more than at AMD.
Let me pull out few elmers here: stock options are in the
drain for most, no one is doing his job for the base salary,
exodus started to jeopardize ongoing projects?

"Tench cited and inserted links to posts made by DanTrip, and properly cited reasons for his lack of credibility."

"Properly"??? Excuse me.
Citing few figures of speech of a person does
not break the classic definition of Ad Hominem, it does
not make them "relevant". More, you seem to think that
attacking facts of a presenter on the basis of "relevant"
actions of him/her somehow justifies the dismissal of
the fact. I suggest you to take your own advice and
re-read your own post:

"First, an attack against the character of person making the claim, her circumstances, or her actions is made (or the character, circumstances, or actions of the person reporting the claim)",

and tell me how "proper" citation by Tench disagrees with
this definition, even with links.

Take your time,

- Ali
