wbmw, I try to stay credible. I believe Dan tries to but he's a bit more biased than I am. Anyway, I have a KT266A and a SIS740 based MB. I moved the 1Ghz Tbird from the KT to the SIS and put an 1500+ XP into the KT266A. I had 2 256MB 2100DDR modules in the KT and 1 in the SIS. All generic. I bought a 512MB module and kept that and one 256MB module in the KT266A for a total of 768MB and I moved 2 256MB modules in the SIS. All generic. No issues other than the fact that the SIS refused to boot into Windows XP after it was left unplugged for a while. Run a barage of diagnostics and no errors came up. Re-installed XP and everything is OK. I think the bios was misreporting something to Windows. So with all generic modules mixed and matched NO memory issues. I bought all of them from different vendors at different times. So you see, I am a little skeptical when people post negative things about Athlon stability. Before these two systems I had another socket a system ( SIS630 with Athlon 800 and SDRam ) and a Slot A system. Those were rock stable also.
