Ed, my basic gun is a S&W .38 special For me this makes the most sense for self protection in case some looney scorned stock promoter comes to my door ;-) I've gone to the range a few times with it. Generally when I go to the range I go with some cop friends and they have some wild guns to shoot. I've also gone to outdoor ranges and shot some rifles. I've never gone hunting and have no desire. I've also not shot anyone but would if I had to save my life or someone else's. I used to be against guns in the house until all these looney promoters started threatening to kill me all the time.
