That's true.

I suppose JFK should have publicly presented all the evidence on the cuban missiles many weeks prior to taking any action, so that the nation could have a spirited debate on what to do, and every last inconsequential country in Europe could be consulted and given plenty of time to twiddle their thumbs before telling us they don't want to get involved.

Almost a zero percent chance of that at this point -- they turned the place upside down looking for something to say and came up blank. Nobody is playing that card -- there is no card to play. The case is simple -- do we want a hostile goverment with nukes in the middle of the oil patch? Answer: No. Then lets get rid of him now. Anyway, we hate the guy and he dissed us big time. Screw him -- lets take what we want and install a "friendly government".
