OT Ed, that's exactly what the cops told me to get

I use cheap ammo for practice. I have some "special bullets" for when I really have to use the gun. I got the snub nose so I could carry it easier if I must though I realize the longer barrel would be more accurate. If I have a problem, it will be close up so it's not that important. I also have a dog now who's a great gaurd dog besides being sweet. I just wish he'd quit alerting me to trespassing squirrels and possums in the wee hours of the morning. I haven't had a Jehovah's Witness at my door since I got him ;-)

Ed,

I see we have finally found something "we" all could agree on. The S&W 38 is the right choice for any homeowner. Keep it in a lock box with punch code for easy access, right at the night stand. Simple mechanics, it won't jam at the awful moment it's needed... just cock the hammer/pull the trigger. 357 mag hollow points, changed out, over time, to keep em fresh. Nothing smaller will do. 22's actually "bounce off" some people- which ends up making them a serious problem for you. Having said all that, I pray none of us ever have to use the thing for defense.

btw,

Mary, spend more time on Valentine and the Howe St. gang, and forget about Mark T. You might find some support you haven't had, if you care. There is reason for broader interest now. d
