Indeed. All the mentioned activities are practiced in spades on employer's time and equipment, undoubtedly contributing to the huge boost in productivity that Alan Greenspam is so fond of.

All those things materialized. It just turned out that moving unprofitable or marginally profitable activities to the internet did not make them into great businesses.

"The promise of the internet" at least as it was sold to investors, was always a false promise.
