<<General public expects DOW below 5000; NASDAQ at 1000.>>
First I have heard that said, but its nice to know I am not alone.
Who says?. Is if from financial magazines ?

I say we are going down since there is only so much true money in the system, and its being rapidly depleted by all the trading ( 3 bil shares per day?) on the exchanges. Like rats eating a brick of cheese.
I dont see any solid support levels down there. Only two things will stop the drop. Public confidence or a big influx of money

I never heard of general public opinion. All samplings are 1-10,000 peoples surveys. Those are too small a samplings to make into general public. Seems to me this is your personal opinion or opinion of one or few people you know of.
Dow is not going to go below 7000 nor nas below 1100. Even though p/es still don't justify current valuations, there are too many assets in our corporations that are not adequately priced. This is my personal opinion.
