Just listened to the Q&A of today's Motorola presentation...

media.corporate-ir.net

I think the mystery of the missing 1x chipsets lies (at least partly) with Motorola. He commented that Motorola is currently selling one 1x model (the V120x) and that they have "very significant" quantities of four different 1x models with A-GPS that will be sold when the carriers are ready.

Now the question is....are they having trouble with carrier approvals or are they preparing to launch with quite a bit of inventory? Hopefully, it is the latter....unlike the A500 launch.

FWIW....the V120x may be for sale but it doesnt show up at Verizon for my area code.

SAN MATEO, Calif.—Startup Sonim Technologies Inc. announced a new partnership with mobile phone operating system company Symbian, a move that will make Sonim’s push-to-talk technology available as an additional functionality to all Symbian OS licensees.

Sonim offers carriers and handset makers technology to offer push-to-talk services over GPRS networks. The company officially launched last month.

Symbian is a consortium of mobile phone makers including Nokia Corp., Motorola Inc. and others.
