I've always known that there is no free lunch so I try hard to pay my dues. In the case of the lottery - I gave most of it away. And then in order to share it with as many people as possible, I threw a New Year's Eve party to end all parties - including having everyone picked up and brought home via limos. The main reason for that was that I didn't want to get the phone call the next morning that someone had been killed in a car crash because of too much drinking. The phone call came anyway - one of my best friends, who didn't show up for the party (but was expected) had died the previous night from a pancreatic infection.
