Part of the problem, IMO, is lack of self-restraint. Any right can be abused. I don't thiink this poll would be nearly this bad if people were willing to be sensible in exercing their First Amendment rights.

Of course, one could argue that that's what the First Amendment is for, that rights are only real rights when you get to the fringes. But some people seem to act like little kids trying to see how far they can push Mom before she explodes. We expect this behavior of kids. But adults should, IMO, be adults.

I doubt that more than 5% know what's actually in the First Amendment.
Might as well poll me on this afternoon's useless meaning-of-life emissions on this thread...
