An American Secretary of State is jeered for criticizing a murdering thug's policies, which will lead to his people's starvation.

What else?

What kind of world do we live in?

These people are insane. They deserve everything they get, so long as its not lobster and caviar, which I understand was in abundance at the J'berg party.

Nadine: "During Powell's speech, dozens of American, Australian and other activists in the audience jeered and shouted "Shame on Bush." Some held up banners reading "Bush: People and Planet, Not Big Business." Also:

"Washington was widely accused in 10 days of tough negotiations of shirking past commitments and trying to avoid new ones."
The heckling started when Powell mentioned Zimbabwe. I believe your conclusion that the hecklers therefore support Mugabe is wrong. If they're interested in the plight of starving folks, they'd hardly be inclined to support that nut.
more from that article.
"Washington has also been hammered by some here for opposing binding targets to increase the use of solar and wind power and other renewable energy sources, and for Bush's decision not to attend."

<<Go ahead and starve millions of people, just so long as you never give in to GM corn! >>

All corn is GM corn. The original corn had a bunch of leaves and a stalk with 8 seeds on it.
