All countries tend to intervene only when their strategic interests are involved, be them oil in Iraq, stability of western Europe in the case of Serbia or capturing a terrorist who just blew up downtown Manhattan in the case of Afghanistan.

There is no conspiracy theory a la craig in that. That is a simple statement of fact which applies equally to the US, France, Egypt, China, Fiji, and for that matter to Joe Blow down the street.
