Where we have trouble convincing the rest of the world to support us is in our use of the concept of "self-defense" when we mean "self-interest". It is not in our interests to have a hostile Arab regime with nuclear capability in the middle east -- but we will not convince anybody that when the bombers go in we are acting in self-defense or that it has nothing to do with the vast oil reserves in the region.
