Well, actually the analyst didn't say that, the writer of the story said that.

Gottfried, Re: "WW chip sales and chip equipment bookings through July 2002"

Ditto what John Fowler said. Those charts offer some great new datapoints.

Hi Gottfried and Thread, RE: "Of interest to INTC investors...WW chip sales and chip equipment bookings through July 2002 investorshub.com;

"not quite as gloomy as we're told"

Good call

So, when do you think things will start picking up - slow recovery, isn't it? 25% drop one year, then essentially flat rev growth YOY, though the margins held pretty well this time. Surprisingly well. Must be the magic from Intel's mfg arm.

If 9/11 doesn't create any issues, the country could be on its way to a more solid footing. If the real estate bubble bursts (or if the "housing bubble is saved by inflation"), consumers may lose access to some of their house-equity pocket change to buy PCs.

Btw, the "weaker-than-expected" in Asia surprised me a bit.

Edit: The wild card with Iraq is concerning. Having a complete distaste for violence, I never paid attention to the strategy of battles in history courses, but the concept of "let's vote out loud to see if the US should attack Iraq" reads to me "let's see if we should give Iraq adequate warning & cause to unleash bio-chem warefare on us."

Regards,
Amy J
